Cart Configuration Comparison

Fareplay works with any size beverage cart fleet. See how different configurations affect your course coverage, response times, and golfer experience.

How GPS Tracking and Routing Works

Every Fareplay beverage cart is tracked in real time via GPS. When a golfer places an order, the system automatically identifies the nearest available cart and routes the order to that operator. Golfers can see cart locations on their phone, so they know when service is close. Course managers can view all cart positions on the admin dashboard map.

Real-Time Tracking

Cart positions update every few seconds on the map.

Smart Routing

Orders go to the closest cart for the fastest delivery.

ETA Estimates

Golfers see estimated delivery time based on cart distance.

Configuration Options

1-Cart Setup

12-18 minutes avg response

Best for: Smaller courses or low-traffic days

A single beverage cart covers the entire course on a loop. Golfers can see the cart location in real time and place orders as it approaches their area. Best suited for courses with lighter traffic or as a starting configuration.

Advantages

  • Lowest operating cost
  • Simple to manage with one operator
  • GPS tracking lets golfers see exactly when the cart will be nearby

Considerations

  • Longer wait times during peak hours
  • Limited coverage - only one area served at a time

2-Cart Setup

6-10 minutes avg response

Best for: Standard 18-hole courses with moderate traffic

Two carts split the course into two zones, typically the front nine and back nine. Each cart serves its zone and can be reassigned dynamically based on demand. This is the most popular configuration for full-size courses.

Advantages

  • Balanced coverage across the entire course
  • Significantly faster response times than a single cart
  • Carts can shift zones during demand spikes

Considerations

  • Requires two trained operators
  • Slightly higher operating cost

3-Cart Setup

3-6 minutes avg response

Best for: High-traffic courses, tournaments, and premium experiences

Three carts divide the course into three zones (e.g., Holes 1-6, 7-12, 13-18) with overlapping coverage areas. Orders are routed to the nearest available cart automatically. This setup delivers the fastest service and highest golfer satisfaction.

Advantages

  • Fastest possible response times
  • Overlapping zones provide backup coverage
  • Ideal for tournaments and high-revenue days
  • Automatic load balancing between carts

Considerations

  • Highest operating cost with three operators
  • Best reserved for peak days unless traffic justifies daily use
